Grain Marketing Strategies Conference

The program is designed to provide information on updating grain marketing decisions for 2008 and beyond. Considering the current volatility in the corn, soybean, and wheat markets, the next marketing year promises to be extremely challenging. Participants will learn about information useful for making grain marketing decisions and how to cope with what promises to be another Perfect Storm. Program speakers will cover crop insurance options; options on agricultural futures; futures market; cash sale alternatives; and commodity outlook to assist grain marketers in managing production and price risk decisions.

Jerry Gulke, President, Strategic Marketing Services, Inc., Rockford, IL
Born and raised on a small grain and livestock farm near Ellendale, ND. He has an electrical/electronic engineering degree from North Dakota State University and an MBA from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. He has worked for Sundstrand Corporation, an engineering company, where he honed his skills in financial analysis, project management, marketing and contract administration.
Since 1975, Jerry has farmed in northern Illinois, currently 1,600 acres of corn and soybeans. He is also involved in the overall management of the original farm in North Dakota. His consulting firm, Strategic Marketing Services, Inc. has clients throughout the U.S., Canada, South America and Europe.
Jerry presents market outlook seminars throughout the country and does a regular Friday market commentary on WMT Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He also does market comments for Linder Farm Radio Network in Minnesota, WGN Radio and TV, and U.S. Farm Report (TV).
