Sussex County Order of the Links
The Sussex County Order of the Links is the alumni association for Sussex County 4-H in Delaware. To be nominated as a Link is the highest honor that can befall a 4-H member or leader.
Each summer, members of the Links meet to nominate four new inductees. To qualify as a Link member, you must be beyond the age of 4-H membership (19 years of age) and a graduate of a local club. Adult 4-H volunteer leaders may be nominated after 5 years of volunteer service, regardless whether or not they were in 4-H as a youth.
Members of the Links remain active throughout the 4-H year, serving as judges, committee members and event organizers. Many Link members are still active 4-H volunteer leaders in local clubs.
Sussex County Order of the Links currently contributes two calendar events to the 4-H Community. The Pumpkin Contest in October and Winter Fun Day in January. These events are advertized in the monthly 4-H Newsletter. In addition, in July, all Link members meet for an annual picnic. New ideas are always welcome.
Where are you? Help the Links save trees and money! As you can imagine, the Link member roster over the years is quite significant. Notification of events, meetings and other important information can be challenging as Link members are in almost every state in the union! To help conserve paper and mailing costs, this Web site as well as email will be used increasingly to reach our membership.
