Director of Delaware - Maryland Agrability Project (DMAP):
A USDA grant-funded project designed to inform, educate and assist farmers and agricultural workers with disabilities. DMAP consists of many partners including land grant universities, non-profit disabilities organizations such as Easter Seals and Centers for Independent Living, VR, and several health organizations such as Arthritis Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. The many partners assist in evaluating the needs of clients, recommending adaptive equipment, assistive technologies, and workplace modifications, and securing funding.
The goal of the project is to help farmers continue to lead successful careers in agriculture. DMAP’s philosophy represents the very ideals that define American agriculture – application of technology, tenacity, and willingness to try.
